Robots That Vacuum and Mop
Robots that vacuum and clean provide the convenience of cleaning dry and wet messes in one go and without the need to switch devices. They also can save space in comparison to two separate units, especially in smaller living areas.
A good combination bot will offer excellent navigation and obstacles avoidance. Find models that automatically empty their bins, refill their water tank and machine-wash their mopping pads with an appropriate dock.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It's one of the simplest robots to install that we've tested. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and a quick-start guide will have you up and running with a clean and complete dust bag, hard floor solution and water tank in no time.
The S1 Pro is a powerful small machine that can is able to clean up a storm and vacuums well too. The mops are spun at high speed and use 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to remove dirt, pet hair and sticky dried spills. The vacuum cleaner comes with four power settings, as well as a selection of brushes and attachments, and an intuitive app which lets you select the type of cleaning you'd like to do for each room.
For instance, you can decide to let the robot clean up the kitchen and living rooms but go easy on the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors as well as smart navigation technology. It is able to detect small obstacles that other models cannot. The only drawback is that the robot is known to smash into walls and objects at a high speed. However an inspection of the history of cleaning in the app will tell you exactly what the robot done, where it is moving, and what obstacles it has stumbled upon or avoided.

The docking station comes with an LCD display that displays when maintenance is needed for cleaning up debris and washing the dirty water tank. It can also mix detergent into the water tank in a controlled manner by using a 600ml eufy solution.
Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop come with plenty of running time as well, with the mop being capable of operating for up to 184 minutes in quiet mode, while the vacuum is able to do 136 minutes in standard mode before having to recharge or return to the base to replenish. And you can see the entire cleaning information in the app, which is clearly laid out and is easy to comprehend, though we would like to be able distinguish between a vacuum and mop clean, when looking at a cleaned area in the history of cleaning.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the latest version of Roborock's most popular robot vacuum and mop, is the most up-to-date version. The model of this year features a double agitator built into its mopping pad. This enhances the carpet cleaning capabilities of this model. The S8 Pro Ultra also has enhanced suction power, which allows it to remove small hairs and other particles that other robotic cleaners may be unable to pick up.
The Roborock model, like the other two models I tested is equipped with infrared and 3D obstacle avoidance technology that helps it overcome obstacles like furniture, walls, and other obstacles. However, the S8 Pro Ultra takes things a step further by adding a dual camera which can detect objects and decide whether they are an object that is a wall or a different surface. It then can alter its path in a way that is automatic and clean around the objects without stumbling.
This is the most expensive of the three models I've reviewed but it's also loaded with features. Its sleek angular design is striking and only has three buttons that are physically accessible. The power button, which resumes the cleaning mop button, which doubles as a child lock and a home button to bring the robot to its dock. Lifting the hinged lid reveals a 350ml dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank is self-emptying and the bin auto-filling.
The only issue I encountered with this model was that the VibraRise mop pads mount isn't removable. It is possible to replace the mopping cloth if needed, but it's difficult to take the mount off for washing manually. I've noticed that any carpet that the robot touches will come into contact with the rough Velcro like fastener on mounts, which could cause abrasions.
The S8 Pro Ultra has a variety of smart features that include support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. You can manage and set up these via the Roborock app which is also the home of its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app allows you to schedule cleanings and monitor the battery's lifespan. You'll need to jump through a few steps to enable voice control on this model. It's a shame, considering how well-performing it is otherwise.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 robot vacuum and mop is a market leader with its innovative features, top suction power and advanced mopping capabilities. Its intelligent design allows you to customize and efficiently clean while saving time.
The X40 is the first robot vacuum cleaner to deliver 12,000 Pascals of cleaning power, which easily makes it one of the most effective options available. This powerful vacuum is able to clean up pet hair as well as crumbs and other dry debris. It comes with a mop that is excellent quality that can clean hard floors without using pads. The X40 is also very quiet in operation with only occasional bursts during modes changes or self-maintenance.
Another notable feature is the X40's extendable and liftable side brushes, which allows it to get into difficult-to-access corners and clean furniture, such as tables and chair legs. It also lets the robot to get under furniture with a low profile making it an ideal option for apartments or condos with limited space. The side brush also automatically tilts down when detecting wet spots. This is a nice touch that helps the X40 to avoid causing damage to floors by repeated back-andforth movements.
In contrast to other robots that are limited to one task, the X40 can mop and vacuum at the same time. It can also be programmed to eliminate areas with carpets and mop only hard floors, or reverse the process. It can be controlled via the Dreame app or by using Alexa, Siri, and Google Home to ensure a smooth voice-controlled operation.
The app is simple to use and understand and the X40 comes with a variety of smart features that are simple to set up. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, adjust suction power and mode, look at floor plans and maps, and manage mopping settings. The X40 will also track its progress, and alert you when it's done.
automatic vacuum cleaner is easy to maintain and comes with numerous features that make it a perfect choice for busy families. The docking station will automatically cleans the dustbin and mop pads before refilling them with cleaning solution and fresh water. It will also tell you the moment when the mop pad is at its capacity to the max and alert you to the situation before it overflows.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that is among the most expensive available and comes with many extra features that distinguish it from. Smart DuoScrub, a new feature in its mop heads, makes use of two high-speed mop heads to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a suction force of 7,000Pa. This is more than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also remove pet hair, dirt particles and pick up spills and soiled spots.
The mop is also dried and cleaned inside the base station after each use. This is a great feature because it prevents the growth of mould and unpleasant odours in storage, and also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a system we haven't yet seen on other robot vacuums and mop models and could be a useful method of keeping your home clean for longer.
There are plenty of options, including the option to schedule cleaning times and adjust preferences. These can be set via the app or there are buttons that can be found on the device itself. The app is simple to use and offers many options to customize the cleaning process, and there are numerous functions that other robots don't have - such as the Clean Genius mode that automatically increases suction power when it detects dust particles, instead of relying on the manual setting.
The L20 Ultra is also one of the most fashionable robots we've seen on the market, sporting metallic and white colors that looks classy and sophisticated. It's a bit heavier than some of the other two-in-one robots in this list, at 4kg however it's not overly heavy, and it feels robust and well built. The mopping system is well designed and the double-rotating mop is great for hard floors or in corners. The MopExtend feature allows them to extend up to 2mm below the baseboards.
